Another shot that is better suited for TN than TE.

During my holiday we visited the aquarium in Barcelona. They have very beautiful aquaria and fishes there. Unfortunately all texts in the museum are in Spanish and that's rather difficult for me. Italian I can understand a little but Spanish is one bridge too far. Anyway this shot of a beautiful "schorpioenvis" (Dutch) is one I liked a lot.
I did some PP with levels and USM.

A great shot, Jan, with good clarity and detail. It almost looks 3-D on my screen. Well captured.

Great work. Love the effect of the light from behind. Very sharp detail. I heard they are poisonous? Thanx for sharing.

Prachtig Jan,

Bien hecho.

Beautiful capture Jan.
I believe that is zebra lionfish (Dendrochirus zebra) by the length of the fins that are appraised and vertical lines.
The Pterois sort has long and showy fins but.
All these species have poison in the ends of their dorsal and ventral fins.
Beautiful colors and excellent clearness, considering the aquarium.
Well done!.

Dit is wel zeer goed geslaagd, een foto met deze scorpioen door het glas, excellent werk, mooi gedaan Jan.
This has, however, succeeded very well, a photograph done with these scorpioen by the glass, excellent work, nicely Jan.

Nice shot, highly poisonous spines! Nice sharp and nice colours and composition.

Very well captured, for shooting behind a glass, great creature, like the compo here with color tones..there seems to be some noise though, tried a ws to compare ..

Hi jan a bit of research found this site worth looking at for a few details about this Lionfish equally as poisonous but better looking. a brilliant clear shot of these beautiful fish.
just seen Rap`s note think he has the ident spot on.

A very crisp shot of the scorpion fish, Jan. The shallow DOF and the great light give the illusion of a 3D effect, and make the unique anatomical details stand out really well. Great shot, well done.

Uh, this one is really scary - and beautiful at the same time. Great job you did here shooting through the gass. Very clear shot with very nice colours.

Jan
Not a hint of captivity, a spendid specimen, I love these critters. Well done

I think it's a great shot. Hard for me to explain, but you managed to capture the fish in a light and angle that makes it look like it's floating in air, not underwater. I'm not technical enough to understand why it looks this way, but it does.

Excellent picture of a common lionfish. I seen them nearly on every dive I do in the Red Sea. Love them during the day dives and hate them during the night dives ;-)

I must agree this fish is amazing and deserves a photo, but I am mainly impressed by your shot's quality, taken thru a glass, with all imprevisible parasites reflections in such a situation. Very comparable to a an underwater photo. I would just add a bit of contrast and remove some noise as well.

Great underwater shot, perfectly captured.

This is a marvellous shot of this interesting fish. Thanks for the post.

Nice photo. Very sharp and well balanced lights. I have a nice close up from Lyonfish at my page if you like to see, but I shot it scuba diving in Fiji. I will post another one soon. Itīs a wonderful animal, doesnīt it? Tfs! Happy 2006!
