[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
No butterfly but a moth this time. I learned at the butterfly garden at Empuriabrava that the main differences between moths and butterflies are 1) Moths have 2 comb-like sensors where butterflies have the long stretched sensors and 2) Moths fly at night whereas butterflies during the day.
This moth is the largest of them all (butterflies and moths together)according to the people at Empuriabrava. It is called an Atlas moth. One wing is the size of a hand.
This one was well hidden among the bushes having his daily sleep.

I did the following PP: little crop and rotate, levels and some USM.

Where is the earth he is supposed to carry? Those feathery attenae can smell Pheromones over a very long distance. Beautiful critter. I love these guys, wish I could see one.

I have seen a lunar moth once, but this moth... WOW! it is a lovely creature. The patterns and colours are outstanding. Lovely capture Jan. Now i am jealous. Nice note. Great work done here. Thanx. 10 Points

What a beautiful moth, very well taken. The colours are fantastic, shame there is not a bit more light on him. Good work Jan.

Wow, this is a real beauty Jan. Wonderful colours on this moth. Pity with the background - it would have been superb on a black or very blurred background. Well you cannot be a winner every time and the picture is still great.

Exótica y bella mariposa Jan.
Muy buena nitidez y colorido.
Tal vez la perspectiva no es la mejor para apreciarla en toda su magnificencia.
Atinado encuadre y PP.

Exotic and beautiful butterfly Jan.
Very good colorful and clearness.
Perhaps the perspective is not the best one to appreciate it in all its magnificence. Accurate frame and PP.
