Very good post, nice contrast with the lichen on the tree. Must be unusual to get two of this species together like that.

How big are they??

Very interesting picture, Hans! Amazing looking moths. How big were they? Such good camouflage. Sharp details and good light. I like your composition too. TFP.

Belle et intéressante composition photographique pour ces superbes papillons avec leurs "yeux" sur les ailes. Jolies couleurs sur l'écorce et bonne nettté.
Well Done !

"Stealth" in action! great detailed shot. amazing camouflage.

At the risk of seeming flippant, can I say "Well-spotted!" *grin*. Seriously, you've made a terrific image out of this opportunity. I like the composition, with the moths at slightly different angles, it emphasizes the shape of their wings. The tones of the moths match those of the tree while the lichens set off all the other colours beautifully. It is a lovely image whose composition and exposure does great justice to the creatures - the eyes on the wings show up very nicely while the moths fade into the background. I can imagine wanting to keep away from these guys if I was a bird looking for a snack ;)
