[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Widespread through large parts of Africa, Middle East and western Asia. In Europe Trithemis annulata is still not that common however in Portugal and Spain and southern parts of France it's well possible to spot this dragonfly. This one showed up while I was swimming in a river close to Trujillo, Spain. I approached this one while being in the water with just my head and hands above waterlevel. This way I could come very close without the dragonfly taking off...

Hi Jacob,
a nice close-up of this red dragonfly.
The POV and compostion are good, but the picture is a bit dark and dull, you could check the levels and bright it up.
Good details and nice colours.
Well done.

Bonjour,
On dirait que cette libellule se protège avec ses ailes !
Bonne journée.

Hi Jacob,
These dragonflies [quite common in Malta] have the habit of returning to the same twig after they dart off after a prey. You managed an excellent pov of the insect in its typical pose.

Nicely done, I know they are not easy. I always seem to have my DOF too shallow, but yours is almost there on this picture...

lovely OOF BG and good composition.
