| A sunny day in spring in Extremadura. Just 20 km's north of Trijullo I went trough an 'arroyo' and found this species on this branch. Although he didn't allow me to come close he kept on coming back to the same place. I switched lenses and decided to try it with 100-400mm. In this picture you can clearly see why it is called forcipatus.... |

Nice capture Jacob with excellent POV to show great detail of the insect.
I like it a lot: composition, POV, DOF, sharpness, focus, color, lighting, framing, background.
I like it: notes.
I don't like it: the lack of the values of the image.

Dit is een superleuke waarneming Jacob!
Het is De Onychogomphus forcipatus unguiculatus een in Zuid-europa voorkomende ondersoort van de de nominaatvorm de Onychochomphus forcipatus forcipatus.
Onderscheid Onychochomphus f.unguiculatus t.o.v. Onychochomphus f.forcipatus:
-De donkere streep over de eerste zijnaadstreep is onderbroken,bij de nominaatvorm loopt deze door!
-De achterlijfaanhangsels zijn geel,bij de nominaatvorm donkerbruin!
-De ogen zijn blauwgroen,terwijl uitgekleurde dieren van de nominaatvorm mat-groene ogen hebben!
