[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In my second photo, I published what I thought was a Calopteryx Splendens, but thanks to PDP, Robbrown & milloup I discovered it was a Calopteryx Virgo.

After having a look at different sources, The only thing I have clear is that males of Virgo & Spledens are variable in size and colours, depending on the place, tempetarure, genetic variables, etc. and are sometimes very similar between them.

I wanted to post another pic of this serie just to show a better detail of the male, and also the one in the corner with the banded wing (like Splendens).

I am almost convinced it´s a Virgo, but I wanted to be shure. Thanks again for your knowledge.

Felipe, I'm sure the main picture and the centre-left are C.virgo, the top left is wothout doubt C.splendens.

The picture is another good one but you have an even shallower DOF here and I think that has been the cause of a (small) loss of detail in the head. Also, the stalk to the left of the fly is very bright and could be distracting. I love these demioselles, and you have some nice pictures. I look forward to more of your work.

A very interesting debate. And a very well taken capture. The metallic colours looks very nice on it. Nice work.

I like the idea of multiple shots here, it's a good change of pace. Also, I like how the blue of the wings blends with the greens of the background and seems to become the main body.

Very good composition Felipe!
It's a Calopteryx, but if it is a splendens or a virgo, I'm not shure.
Both belongs to the Zygoptera sub order.
