[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here a male of Rhagio Strigosus. I know thanks to someone in trekearth, I can´t remember his nick, I am shure he is around here. Thanks!
I moved it from TE to TN, now I realized TN exists. In fact in TE I published with the title "Mosquito?", I had never seen one of these before, so I looked up some info.

These are called Snipe Flies (rhagionids).
The adults are common in moist shady places, and are often seen resting on leaves in woods. The larvae live in rotting wood or moist soil. The larvae and most adults are probably predaceous on small insects, but the feeding habits of most species of rhagionids are not well known. Some species feed on nectar and honeydew. A few species in western North America bite and can be pests. Rhagionidae are medium to large sized flies. They are usually gray or brownish but may be black with white, yellow or green spots. They have long legs and a long tapered abdomen and a large rounded head. They often have spotted wings. The body is either bare or covered with short hair.

These one was just in the shadow line and I noticed some transparency with highlithed background, so I tried & liked the result.

Crop, levels, unsharpen.

Well done !

Felipe, I like the shot because of the transparency in combination with the silhouette atmosphere.
Good work
Greetings, Jan

Very sharp macro in counterlight without making the target dark, on the contrary improving the texture. Fine shot !

Hi Felipe, and a belated welcome too!
One very strange but beautiful fly, I like the backlighting shining "thru" his abdomen and his pose on the tip of his toes!.

WOW! I can see right through him. Exceptional sharpness and the use of light is great. Very nice take. With such a standard, I can't wait to see more. Thanx for sharing.

Great image Felipe showing me an insect I have never seen before. The first thing I wondered when seeing this is where is the brain?! As for the photographic qualities, I like that you have the light coming gently through the legs and body

Great shot Felipe. I have the same camera but I find almost impossible to take good macros with it. There is always cropping but then the sharpness is missing.

Your photo is superb, sharp with good DOF. The way you shot your subject makes it even more interesting.
