Pyrite cube.

Hi everybody.
I hope to get some more time soon to share some more photographs and critics with you, lately I am a bit off...

In a look around, I found THIS post from Greg, one of his mineral series, very good and informative.
He describes that sometimes it can be found in cubic cristals, and this in one of them. It is NOT CUTTED OR POLISHED.

The size of the cube is 2.1 x 2.1 x 2 cm.

I have a "narcisist WORKSHOP" to show the other side and with a different light.

I saw this incredibly perfect minerals in "La Rioja", very near the fosil dinosaur steps". There is a mine where they extract this crystals for collections or decorative porpuses called "Navajun", but had no opportunity to buy one.

Recently I found someone selling beautiful ones in ebay, and I bought a very cheap one, I invite you to visit the ones they are offering now, just to see some more different ones.

Hope you find them as interesting and beautiful as I do.

Hi Felipe!
I hope you are not too exhausted by your work. Superb crystal! Perfect shape and dimensions. You choose very suitable BG for this jewel. Picture in WS is even better ;-) 'Eye of the crystal' ;-) I looked at ebay and you are right - very low prices. Maybe I buy one. One question - how large is the cube?

very interesting post the polished sides are surprising

Very interesting and striking photo. Well done

Hello Philipe and Happy Easter! Good to see your work again. Very interesting subject - how these minerals crystalize at perfect right angles to form these seemingly man-made perfect cubes. You've done a superior job of representing it here. Well done!

An interesting post and note. Good use of the diffuse flash.

Great composition, not a nit. Great light, details and framing.
Well done.
TFS.

Excellent and informative posting, notes, and workshop, and very well presented. Thankyou for sharing with us.

As with the fungi you have succeeded in posting another interesting photo, Felipe. Unbelievable that its not polished or cut in anyway. Perfect nature... :) Great shot, perfect composition and details for this "studio shot".

Hi Felipe
This pic shows clearly why it is called Fools Gold!. instead of iron. Beautiful BG and compliments the cube very well, THS.
I go some fungus on dung, also a big, fat bracket fungus. Will post later, when my time is also more available.

Hi Felipe, extra good shot, I have very similar photo but not so bright like yours, becouse i used flash and it was wrong. Good job and TFS

Hola Felipe,

Hi Felipe,
Wow! That is absolutely amazing, it definitely proves that man did not invent the cube, the Japanese certainly came up with the game cube but not the shape. Really cool, I wouldn't mind getting one of those for my glass case display. I checked out your ebay link, very tempted. TFS. :

Hi Felipe,
Very interesting and surprising shot. Wonderful object, colors, focus. Amazing image, congrats and tfs.
Best regards, László
