These are fosile steps from dinosaurs, calleg ignites. They are located in La Rioja, the most famous wine production place of Spain. There are 1400 and still discovering new ones. This two are specially well conserved.
They were made in the Cretacic period, and have been discovered for the first time to be ignites in the early seventies. Before that, the village people how lived in this remote places thought were made by strange creatures which lived in the mountains.
They are formed when a heavy animal walks through marshy places, and it´s step gets inmediately filled with mud and sediments. Then they get fosilized and erosion & earthquakes bring them to light again.
The left ones are from a theropod carnivoruos dino, maybe a Tarbosaurus, something similar to a Tyrannosaurus, wich measured 8 meters high and was terrible predator (you can see the claws).
The others are from a family of unknown dinos and has been discovered for the first time here. Thay have called it Theroplantigrada encisensis, Theroplantígrada because this animals had interdigital membranes and encisensis because of the village of Enciso is nearby.
I find them fascinating, hope you do also.

Cropped and levels adjust.

Very original and fascinating. I've never had the opportunity to see anyhthing like this in person so thanks for posting. Good note.

Very nicely done, Felipe. This 2nd :) post. The standard is definitely upheld. The frames and colours works very well. And the topic fascinating. They have just discovered a fossil find on one of our farms. The grant just recieved and the excavation should start shortly. I hope I can extend this topic you started then. Great work, very unique.

Hola Felipe, a nice assemblage of the two photos you are presenting here, with fascinating detail and textures to look at. Incredible how these things are millions of years old, yet look almost as crisp as fresh marks. Excellent notes to accompany this very informative shot.

Very well presented work and a great note to accompany it.
Good,sharp and well detailed shots.
Very well done.

Very educational and interesting. What the shot may lack photographically, it more than makes up for in the notes. There isn't much to do when taking a picture of a rock, but you managed to find something. Bravo.

Wow, this is absolutely fascinating. I find your note and the shots very well combined. Makes me want to visit (also for the wine). I will of course have to go back and have another look at the info I had on prehistory.

This is a very good documentary shot about the dinosaurs. Good you've put together these two shots. Both are well framed and the stone color (white is not easy) is exposed in the right way to enhance these prints. Well done, Felipe

Very interesting note again. Your comments are quite educational.

We have many tracks like these where I live here in and around the Utah(USA) desert.

Yes, facinating is a good word to use when you find footsteps to the past. I'm a big Fossil & Rock hound. I live in Alberta which is extremely rich in Dinosaur bones. Especially the albertosaurus, hadrosaurs and ankylosaurs. In Drumheller, Alberta we have the Royal Tyrell Museum full of skeletons, teeth, claws and further east of Drumheller is Dinosaur Provincial Park whick is a World Heritage Site. Thanks Janice

Hola,
No se por qué, pero había pasado por alto esta. Me encanta todo lo relacionado con la paleontología y creo que esta es una muy buena, gracias por publicarla, muy buena la nota.
