A lovely little flower, but maybe a little bit on the dark side. In my opinion you could have brightened the photo a little bit to bring out more colour and contrast, but it still remains a lovely composition with very sharp details from the spot-on focus.

Generosa en tamaño la foto que nos presentas!
Me gusta mucho la buena vista que nos regalas de este crisantemo, con abundantes detalles en todas sus partes.
Es interesante como podemos observar las texturas en los pétalos blancos, me imagino que ajustate algo la compensación de la exposición, no?
Resulta muy contrastante el fondo bastante oscuro que obtuviste, se resalta muy bien a toda flor.
Enhorabuena y gracias por compartir la foto.

Hi Jose

This is a beautiful illustration of this Chrysanthemum flower. I like the technique you applied to set the exposure levels strictly on the reflective light of the flower, thereby drenching out the BG which became very dark and complimentary in the process. This also had the added benefit that the colours became very rich and well saturated.

Although the flower is very centrally placed in the composition, it actually worked very well because one does not see any other detail than that of the flower. The DOF was spot-on and provided excellent details on the flower especially on the pollen rich centre of the flower.

I see nothing else but the flower in the frame, Jose. It simply rises out of the darkness like a dream image.
It is my firm conviction that no one can take flower pictures the way you do. There is some charismatic sixth sense involved here!
In an extremely gentle tone of light, all the gentle colours on this flower emerge gently to entice me with their gentle beauty.

It is quite surprising to compare the different lights on the flower. You have choosen the more artistic picture, which gives to the Chrysanthemum more mystery and more power. Here it is the flower which is the sun.

Me hize con una pantalla TFT para tener más prespectiva al preparar las fotos, y he descubierto que tus fotos se ven mucho mejor en la TFT que el monitor de tubo. Tienen mejor contraste y los colores son más luminosos. Muchas veces no nos damos cuenta de lo diferentes que los demás pueden ver nuestras fotos, y viceversa.
Me gustan tanto la artistica com la descriptiva, pero a esta el fondo oscuro le queda muy bien, saturando la flor perfectamente.

1. composition - simply "sunny" picture, with almost perfect symethry

2. colours - well saturated but also warm and delicate

3. DOF - very good, no other word is necessary

Wonderful flower shot and superb exposure. Lovely colours and the sharp details and the focus is absolutely spot-on. The darkish BG lets the flower stands out and there is a particular glow in the flower. Stands majestically there. Excellent POV and DOF. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

A beautiful golden yellow flower portrait. A very delightful view with fine details to appreciate.
