Hello Tony,
This a beautiful subject. The composition is excellent and the blurred BG is nice. I would like to see a sharper focus though.
TFS
I am sorry to say that I cannot help you with the ID of this beauty. I love the colours and the soft BG, but the shallow dof has lost you some of the sharpness in the foreground petals. Why did you select f/5?
Superb composition, TFS

I think Teucrium pseudochamaepytis (Lamiaceae) Cat Thyme. TFS, good work.

Hello José M,
A delicate flower, where the good point of view gives a very good impression of the plant!
The macro work is well done with fine details in the subject, nicely blurred back...
Good composition, nicely balanced!
Greetings,

Hi Jose,
Beautiful flower. Though the focus is a bit soft the details are impressive and set against the darkish BG it stands out pretty well. Very interesting shape of the flower, the petals in particular. Excellent POV to capture it and a superb composition. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Jose.
You managed to found amazing subject for shooting. I am impressed with beautifulness of this plant and flower. It is enough to say, Bravo. Composition/ framing of this the shot is outstanding, the best. Delicate lighting and colour are great. Level of sharpness is selected precisely and suits for pictured scene greatly. Refined art masterpiece. My congratulations and best regards.
Alexei.

Hi Jose
Great POV showing off the lovely shape of this flower. The dark green blurred BG really sets it off

I am glad Tugrul could help you with the ID for this attractive little flower. This is what makes TrekNature such a great site. Somehow there is always someone or somebody, somewhere or someplace, who knows something that some of us sometimes do no know. Isn't that somewhat of a rather auspicious outcome? (Chuckle)
Although a number of the previous critiquers addressed the DOF issue (and they are probably right) I think the slight nit rather resides in the fact that you apparently did not do much PP. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it really seems as if this photo was posted straight from the camera. I will repeat verbatim what I said to Rick Price (just yesterday). "Remember that the censor of a digital camera does not see a scene the same way the human eye or for that matter of fact the way conventional film sees it. The sensor tends to render it somewhat dull and unsharp and therefore we need to do some basic optimisation (PP) to a photo just to pep it up (at least) as far as colour and contrast are concerned. Anyway, I am sure you know this all and maybe it was just a time constraint".
I like the composition and the POV, but considering what I just said above I can maybe explain a little more about the posting and the apparent lack of PP. Please do not see this as negative criticism, but purely as an attempt to try and assist you with some positive feedback and hopefully some sound advice. The photo has a dullness (lack of colour saturation) and this is compounded by the perceptible deviation in the white balance as there is a bluish hue present on the photo. Maybe that was due to an overcast day and the possible fact that you did not adjust the "white balance" for the specific conditions. Further the details are soft and that again reflects on the absence of PP. By optimising the "Levels", the "Saturation", the "Contrast", the "Brightness", the "Sharpness", and by reducing the noise in the BG (yes, even at ISO80 it seems like the sensor picked up some noise probably due to the soft lighting conditions) you will find that you actually have quite a different and very acceptable photo.
Now have a look at my workshop and see if you agree with the above assessment.
Anyway, good attempt MF and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Jose,
I like the composition and the exposure on the white flower is good. It is very unusual and interesting subject. The workshop by Loot was good to sharpen it just a bit. Best Wishes.

The movement here is so elegant and the photo very sharp, it's a bit sad that this so beautiful flower was in the shade...
Bravo,
Cath.

JM

Hola José,
Even though Loot's WS is an improvement, you have made a fine capture of a Cat Thyme flower with good sharpness lighting and composition.
TfS,
Un gran saludo,

Hola Jose !

Salutations

Hello Jose,
Excellent macro of this tiny flower. The composition is very beautiful and I like the dark background. Loot has managed to make it even sharper to enhance its beauty even further.
