This is my "first" moth, "captured" yesterday, quite late in the afternoon, with very few light, so not a really sharp shot.

Vestal (Rhodometra sacraria) (Linnaeus, 1767)

Description
Wingspan 22-28mm. Adults are generally pale ochreous yellow, (although some individuals can be crimson) with a distinctive oblique stripe that runs from the apex of the forewing to the inner margin. The hindwings are pale, creamy white and unmarked.

Flight Period
Adults have been recorded in June and from August to October.

Status
The species breeds in southern Europe and North Africa, and the caterpillars live on knotgrass (Polygonum), dock (Rumex) and other low plants.
It frequently migrates north and in some years appears in small numbers in N. Ireland.

Hola Marta,
a fine picture of this Geometride moth, well focused and sharp. In my opinion, the display could be a little narrower concentrating more on the moth.

Pues vaya hermosa polilla!
Es muy bueno el contraste de sus colores, el pálido amarillo adornado por ese rojo intenso.
Me gusta la escena con todas esas ramas oscuras, y la irrupción del amarillo de la polilla.
Supiste manejar muy habilmente la luz y la profundidad de campo.

Hola Marta, te quedó que ni bordada y mira que tiene dificultad este insecto con lo que se muevo y sobre todo por su tamaño y textura. Buena luz y detalles y ese ala perfecta.

Ah, los cisnes de mi foto los tienes más o menos en el Segre entre los términos de Sudanell- Albatarrec- Montoliu de Lleida; en esa zona tienes tb garzas, cormoranes en esta época, pollas de agua, muchos patos, alguna garza más que desconozco, martín pescador y varias más que no se el nombre. Sigue siendo una zona poco cuidada pero ha mejorado bastante.

You made a fine capture of R. sacraria to show its beauty with good sharpness.
Like Peter says, it may have been worth cropping this one closer and in my opinion the composition would be better if you had more space in the direction the moth is facing. Thanks for sharing this one and I hope to see more moth images from you!
