Timanfaya last erupted 1730-36 wiping out the wheatfields and livelihoods of eleven villages in the south of the island. The extensive malpais (volcanic badlands) are after nearly 300 years only capable of supporting lichens and the occasional drought hardy plants fortunate enough to have found a small pocket of mineral proto-soil in which to root.
The Parque caters well for the tourist and visitor while protecting the local environment and evolving ecostructure. |

Very interesting capture Peter. I especially like that you have a car on the roadway below to give the viewer a perception of the vastness and degree of affected landscape. Good detail, color and lighting. POV is well designed. Thank you for sharing it with us.
