Hi Vicma.
Focal length = 400 mm and exposure time = 1/25. Where is your tripod or it is work of your iron hands and Canon's IS :-))). Amazing shot of this fine bird and so attractive stone. Interesting soft light and pleasant delicate colour palette. Sharpness is superb as well as the POV and framing. Bravo.

Hola Victor, a primera vista, por el color y manchas del plumaje parecía desenfocada, cosa que me extrañó ( mi vista va perdiendo gas ) pero mirándola bien el enfoque es casi perfecto.La profundidad sobrada. Los amantes de
los pájaros, aparte de admirar otra especie Canaria, valorarán el que se pueda ver el lateral y los bajos del ave. Buena pose.
Interesante verla en su hábitat y como no, esas piedras volcánicas siempre presentes, curiosas para los ajernos como yo.
Una gran toma de nuevo.

Another outstanding close-up from you, my friend!
I'm used to seeing this charming woodpecked on a tree, pecking inside a bark, but your capture here with it on a rock is also great! In fact, it brings out the bird even better :)
Again a spot-on on exposure and a terrific DOF make sure that the colors and details on your subject are at the highest level.
The blurry BG is a bliss and that small reflection in its eye is the cherry on top of the cake for this compo.

Un gran retrato de una escurridiza ave, quizás un tk de flash le hubiera venido de perlas, pero seguro que lo consigues en otras capturas, el fondo muy bonito..... Vamos que te poso de lujo porque a esa velocidad, yo también quiero uno de estos.
El viaje pues por ?enia...... costa levantina Denia no Kenia. Muchas fotos de aves y poco tiempo para procesarlas, tengo el disco duro "petao de lleno" como dicen los chavales de hoy en día.

I came back from Spain to Turkiye two days ago. My trip and meeting very well. But I could not see and take photographs of many kinds of animal. I didnt have enough time for visiting Canarias. I hope in next time.
Well, this is very nice shot of the endemic form. Fine details, nice colors and BG, also eye contact. Composition very well. Good notes.

i can imagine you set up with the tripod, sandwiches, a magazine, and a keen eye on whats going on around you

Superb capture of the Canarian subspecies of the Greater Spotted Woodpecker with fine sharpness and details as well as a great composition against a pleasing bokeh BG. I like the pose on the volcanic rock: I have seen one on Teide.
This is a young bird that has almost lost its juvenile plumage.
