[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I finaly realised I couldn't take long exposure photo with normal daylight and without using filters. So this time I waited till 7 o'clock and the sun just had gone to set up my tripode on the rocks. It was high tide and not much place left, but therefore better to get waves with this misty effect I wanted to try out.
I first tried the semi manuel mode with shutter speed priority at 2 sec but it still turned out too bright so I took the following in manual mode. So this ones are my first more or less ok pictures. ;-P
La Caleta is a rocky, natural coastline with cliffs and lava formations
The brighter marks on the cliff right are due to water salpication, moist is filtering very slowly out of the rock.

Quite a stunning landscape image, the sea is particularly beautiful, it looks almost like clouds..very nice...

Hello Karin

I would definitely call this a very successful first long exposure try! Congratulations!
I really like the effect of the silky water and the contained power of the sea as it hits those massive cliffs...very well handled.
The longer shutter speed also meant a better definition and texture for the rocks here (because you were allowed a very big DOF) and therefore you have a splendid contrast with the water this way.
I'm wondering if you used any filter here...
If not, you might want to invest (if you like this type of photography) in a circular polarizer. It turns down the exposure a bit (giving you some extra shutter speed), saturating the colors very nicely and giving you a better control for the reflection of the water.
But even so, i would like to compliment you on your first try and encourage you try more and more :)

Hoi karin,
het resultaat mag er zeker wezen. het mistige effect van de golven geeft het plaatje een rusting me mischien wel spookachtig effect. Ik denk eerlijk gezegd dat 2 seconde misschien wel te lang is. Je verliest daardoor een beetje de kracht van de zee.
