So here we have next picture from your trip to Spain :) Very nice capture of Papilio machaon, good sharpness and POV. On the other hand I just worder if the picture is not too dark a little :)

A fine capture of a perfectly fresh specimen of swallowtail on a thistle flower Ulla, you've managed to produce a sharply focused image from a vertical viewpoint and the relatively deep DOF sharpened even the flower to a great extent, leaving the BG pleasantly OOF. Pity there was a small tear marring the right wing...

what a beauty Ulla, and it looks so big too! Very good sharp detail here, with perfect exposure. It's also nicely placed on the diagonl across the frame from your POV from above.

The change of environment is very strange!

It is a beautiful butterfly and carefully captured here!

Hi Ulla,

Have sometimes seen these in Finland where the are called 'Riddare' (på Svenska). You rarely see these in so good condition, usually one or two tails are missing. Very nice composition, sharpness of details and brightness of colours.

Excellent close-up on this marvellous Machaon on a beautiful thistle. It is always a lot of "bonheur" to meet this butterfly. In my region it also lives rather in arid areas, like on Mallorca.

This is truly a prize picture from Mallorca, Ulla.
A neat Swallowtail specimen which you were able to shoot with its wings fully open.
At shutter speed 1/1600, the details and colours including the ones on that lovely purple flower have come out very well.
