A lovely shot of this gull. The composition is good and I like the scruffy foreground...it adds texture. The muted background complements the bird well. Good sharpness and POV.

He looks quite similar to our common seagulls - Larus novaehollandiae scopulinus. The colours of the beak are different and it might be a bigger bird too.

A beautiful gull captured expertly in a textbook posture, in fine detail and exposure, even the purest white areas of the plumage are not overexposed, not an easy achievement with darker toned backdrops. The rough looking dried sea grass in the FG provides a nice contrast with the soft contours of the bird. I'm quite happy with your sharing this fine take with us Ivan.

We are on a 1250 km bicycle tour from Malmoe to Sundsvall and I just stumbled upon this magnificent photo of yours, Ivan! We do only find internet npow and then.

Something wonderful happens when the white comes in so well against the bluish backdrop...and the white is not washed out which was a chore for the camera or yourself! Very Very nice Ivan...I have missed your posts for a short bit. You are a man of knowledge and we must always have you here!

So sad to think that this beautiful Gull is a threatened species. I never knew there were so many species of gulls. This is a beauty and you show off the face, eye, lovely beak, plummage and tail feathers so well. Magnificent whites, colors and details. I love the blurred background and the weeds he is standing on. A beautiful shot.

Hi Ivan. Thanks for posting the Audouins Gull it is one i have never seen . The red bill with the black mark makes it stand out so well. as you say a smart looking bird which you have taken with good detail and natural colours. TFS.

upto now, I have seen many gull (Laridae) species, but I think I have not meet this threatened species. But it is known from Turkiye also. Your capture is great with great focus, fine details, black banded red-bill and eyes contact. BG, coloration and POV also great. It is one of the best results of your Spanish trip. The fact that I see an endangered species is so exciting and something needs to be drastically done to save this beautiful bird from extinction. Wonderful shot with lovely colours and details on its plumage. Superb light and exposure management and the white plumage looks great against the bluish BG. Excellent DOF, POV and composition. Kudos.

I couldnt have agreed more with you Ivan.These are one of the most beautiful birds especially with their most noticeable red beek with patterns on it.And lucky you are to enjoy capturing this.The white is well exposed and i love the plumage colours that move from a pristine white to a slate grey.Very well done.

Hello Ivan,
I think this worked out very well with the gull on the dried seaweed, and the "ocean" color of the bokeh. Makes for a great comp.
The bird is well exposed with great detail, color, POV, and DOF..
And that red patterned bill is striking.
