Hi Ra,
nice and unusual pic of a fly that clutches to a flower as if it was on a sinking ship. Well done, Ra. From the spines and the tarsi I gather it could be a Tachinid fly occurring also in the Mediterranean, Tachina fera/I>, up to 15 mm long.
