Nerium oleander L.
Famiglia : Apocynaceae
Foglie : sempreverdi, lanceolate, coriacee
Fiori : ermafroditigrandi e decorativi bianchi, rosati o rossi. La fioritura continua per tutta l' estate
Frutti : follicolo allungato( 10-15 cm) che a maturità libera semi piumosi
Portamento: arbusto a chioma espansa , sino a 5 m di altezza
 
L'oleandro è pianta spontanea in molti ambienti delle zone temperate, si è però naturalizzata anche in areali temperati più settentrionali lungo le zone costiere e i laghi. E' specie eliofila, con adattamenti spiccati al clima secco e arido degli ambienti dove vive spontanea. E' molto sensibile al freddo e va posta al riparo, se coltivata in zone ove si prevedono gelate. Resiste bene al vento marino. Tutte le parti dell'oleandro sono velenose( contengono alcaloidi). Questa pianta è soprattutto diffusa come ornamentale, per la bellezza della fioritura, che è continua dalla fine della primavera all'inizio dell'autunno, e per l'aspetto decorativo del fogliame sempreverde. Sono state selezionate alcune varietà a fiore semplice e doppio dai colori diversi.

Very pretty flowers. They look very fragile! The red veins give a nice effect. Excellent DOF and sharpness.

Hermosa composicion Paolo.
Siempre que se exhiben flores contra el cielo azul, el esplendor de la imagen es evidente.
Gran colorido, buen encuadre y POV, atinado DOF (quizas un F8 hubiera sido más conveniente).
Interesante nota tambien.
