Hi Gert!

Picture taking is very good, with excellent sharpness and controled exposure. Tight framing at 300mm and shallow DOF bring all emphasis on its funny looking expression. Since it wasn't enough to present us a great shot, you added expert PP treatement to acheive a SPLENDID PORTRAIT of that colorfull pet.

Now that I'm working Raw, I wish you could give as a bit of a tutorial in how to get those incredible colors to come alive in your pictures.

Hello Gert
By the marks on this macaws beak it looks like it tried to escape the coop a couple of times. Maybe it got lonely and felt a bit blue and being such a big bird it fell in love with the ostrich next door and wanted to pay it a visit.
This is an excellent capture. The brilliant colours combined with the extraordinary details give this photo remarkable appeal. The bird is well isolated and enhanced by the totally OOF BG while the exposure was masterfully handled.
