[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This flower is very uncommon for me. I saw it in my childhood and I like it because you can take to pieces the stem very easily. The stem is hollow inside.
A few days ago, I found a very big group of them, so I went to take a shot with the morning light.

The Horsetails are plants of a single living genus, Equisetum, and of the single family Equisetaceae of the single order Equisetales and the single classis Sphenopsida. This would be a good opportunity to take a look at the Tree of Life, although the horsetails are not implemented till now. These curious plants are the relicts of an ancient family known through fossils from as early as 325 million years ago, the geological period (Upper Carboniferous) when the remains of plants became the vast coal deposits that we use today. (Taken from Wonderful World of Equisetum)

The one in the photo is Equisetum ramosissimum. I can find the species with the kind help of cosmln

I hope you like it. Have a happy week end!

hi Jose,

the plans is some kind of Equisetum (don't know the exact species, the iberic flora is not familiar to me) but maybe this will help you to make a more exact determination.

Nice shot, I love the composition very much, with all these vertical horsetails. Good colors too, with so much different greens. This is a very common plant in France too. Well done !

Olá,
uma macro muito colorida!
Bonita perspectiva, luz e composição!
Thanks Ana:)

We have horsetails that grow here all along the roadsides, but they're not as tall as this variety, so this is nice to see to compare. Very interesting note, I love the blurry background and the drops of rain on the leaves. Well done.
