Euphorbia balsamifera

There are thousands of Euphorbias in the world. This one was common on Lanzarote. It grows up to 80 (150)cm and is native to all islands in rocky places in the lower succulent zone. Broad, shortly lanceolate, fresh-green to glaucous leaves on broad, light terracotta-brown stems. It has a single central flower above light yellowish-green pseudo-petals (cyathies) on each branch followed by a large reddish-green capsule.

What a beautiful composition you chose for this post. There is a tiny bit of overexposure but the overall effect is really nice. The dark background and bright leaves looks like yu may have used a flash, but you didn't. Did you do any pp to enhance this effect. The color and sharpness are super.

Hello Ulla,
a unique flower-plant shot for me. You manage the light and shadow very well. It stands out clearly and it is very clear. I could see an insect on the leaf. Well composed with a diagonal placment of the subject.
