Red-veined Darter - Sympetrum fonscolombii
This species is most similar to the Ruddy Darter but can be distinguished by the red or yellow wing veins along the leading edge of the basal half of each wing and the unwaisted abdomen. The pterostigma (the mark on the wing) is pale yellow with a black border. The males are brick red, the females yellow/brown.
We saw this on Lanzarote on wasteground near some puddles of water. It is common in southern Europe, Asia and Africa.

Hi Ulla,
the POV and pose are great here. The details are alos very good, maybe the picture is a bit dull but nevertheless is still a very nice close-up. What I like most here is the nice DOF and the clean BGm the dragonfly standout well.
Snyggt jobbat,
Ha en skön helg.

Hi Ulla

A simple yet effective composition you have here!
This lovley dragonfly looks excellent agains that monochrome BG.
The POV is great, too, and the natural colors are nice.
Pleasant lighting and framing, also.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Ulla,
I agree with the previous comments about the excellent composition and very nice pov. I also agree that the picture could be sharper and better exposed.
I have to say also that the BG makes the subject stand out and that more than makes up for the minor niggles.

Buena aproximacion, los perfiles son raros pero quizas sea por el fondo o la luz. Un saludo

Hi Ulla.
I like the dragonfly so much. They are perfect but restless models. You have selected POV and DOF perfectly also the captured scene and composition. The whole insect is in focus, sharp and well detailed, its pose is attractive and allows us to see all beauties of this cute insect. I only would work at color of a background. It seems to me it is not enough saturated. My best regards. Thank you for your attention to my modest works.
Alexei.
