Little Auk in west Sweden
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This Little Auk (Alle alle/Alkekung) normally stays in the arctic waters but during storms from the west they may blow into coastal areas in west Sweden. This autumn has been very warm and mild but there was a storm a month ago that pushed a lot of theses beautiful birds towards us.
Last weekend we went to Varberg, a bit south of Gothenburg, trying to find one of them. This picture is from Galtabäck, a very small unexploited fishingharbour. The bird was as surprised seeing me as I was astonished by it´s beauty. So we looked at each others from only a couple of meters and I nearly forgot to take any photographs..... ;o)
I will post more pictures from this sessions later on as my "modell" were very cooperative. |

Hej Bengt,
You're lucky to have been able to capture this lovely little bird! We've seen it once seeking shelter from big waves in Simrishamn. Excellent capture considering the waves and the colours are great.
