[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a cat owl, who had tried to make a nest in the chimney of a newbuilt house. Of course without success; the poor owl fell down and sat like a cork there, between the chimney opening and the stove. Fortunately the house owner did lot lit a fire and burnt it up. Jan-Erik Hansson, from the Animal Rescue Center in Northern Halland, went to pick the poor owl out. This was not the first one, he did the same thing both before and after the time I went with him to take pictures. The reason for these accidents was that the house owners had cut down the oaks in the neighbourhood, where the owls used to live. To get some place instead, they tried the chimneys. It was very stupid to cut down the old oaks, like this, and make the owls without a place to live.
