First of all congrats for 100th post. Knowing that u have taken this shot from 2.5 meter and that also with crisp clearity, full marks to this one.Great details, specially eyes and legs. Sopt on focusing on head part. Composition is great. Its like he is just want to fly away from that post. Wish you very best for your journey and hope climate changes soon so that we would get to see your great images as usual.

This is really a great event and you celebrated it with a wonderful picture!
This damselfly is very beautiful here! I really like the details here - very clear and sharp especially on the head and body, where every single hair is visible!
Also, the colors, tones and reflection are amazing as well as the lighting.
Very nice POV, DOF and composition, too!

Dear Ivan,
what I think I learn from this very succesful shot is as follows: you could do it hand-held, you held your flash in hand as well, you had no second light source or reflector.
Right? So I have something to try next summer.

An excellent capture worthy of your 100th post, Ivan. Congratulations!
You have apparently set your targets on the frontal portion of the Demoiselle and done a great job. I am riveted on the clear colours and details in focus and cast a second look at the shadow only after reading your note. Frankly, shadow does not interest me in this picture.

if it's up to me it's just the beginning and I'd like to see a lot more of your pictures here on TN. You choose one of my favorite damselflies as your 100th post. Not far from my house runs a stream and in summertime it's full of banded demoiselles. Great metallic colours and sharp details. Keep on going!!

My compliments first of all for the posting - may you do another hundred. Secondly for the shot that is in my opiniopn stunning. Fantastic colours and pin sharp detail make it outstanding. Even the shadows help in making it so pleasing to the eye. I particularly like the diagonal framing of the insect that makes the compo so effective.

happy 100th
and an interesting shot of the flyer with wings folded...
the head and thorax are really sharp and i think what makes it so immediate are the dark tones against the green background.
didnt notice the shadow being of any distraction..fine as it is..you could have shortened it a bit so it didnt touch the edge of the frame..?
