A great capture of our parrot,unfortunately I havent seen them again,it contrast well against the blue sky and the quality is great considering the heavy crop,at the moment as well a clear blue sky so have to go out now,tfs

Well my friend, your stance must be better than a hefty tripod to capture a scene like this so sharply in focus with a hand-held camera, and a 420 mm telephoto element in front to boot! You really are a phenomenal photographer Ivan, and the resulting tele-close-up? Again, perfect in all apects. Thank you my dear friend, for this extraordinary "event".

Why it's Cyrano de Bird-gerac !! A most unusal looking aviary Ivan. I should ask you and Jane as well...how you folks always appear to be shooting straight across horizontal at treetop level? Or is it a small tree or bush? Very nice back'ish side image and clear as it can be.

Hi Ivan. This is a bird i have not seen in the wild so thanks for posting.it looks such a strong looking bird. with the large bill. you have captutred such a natural looking pose. in the tree tops against the deep blue sky. great detail in the birds feathers. well done TFS.

Vey nice presentation of Parrot Crossbill, I like a lot its pose - on the top of tree. You showed in lovely way also all morphological features of this bird - especially the bill :)

What an amazing specie! We do have cross-bill birds here as well but I have never seen one and my lawn counts many pine trees... :( Details, exposure and composition are just beautiful here. I like its grey color a lot and it stands so nicely on this blue winter sky. Well seen and thanks for those interesting notes.
