You gave be a big scare there :))
I know this species is one of the first ones to emerge in spring and i recognized it from the thumbnail and the title, so the first thing i looked at when i opened it was the date...for a moment there, i though it was one from this year :) Then again...with this crazy warm weather, almost anything is possible.

Anyway, that aside, it's a splendid macro, with great sharpness and colors. I really should get some decent photo of one this year... :)

Good morning Ivan,
looking out of the window, the sun-shine and the clear sky look like dragonfly season
- but fortunately season's are not yet so far-going merged.
So, I'm happpy to see this beautiful dragonfly - but today only on my computer-screen.
The insect stands out very well and is shown with excellent sharpness.
Colours, light and the visibility of the wing veins are perfect.

I like dragonflies and I wish I can make a shot like this one day. You have managed the details and sharpness excellently throughout the fly. I especially like those bug eyes. I can almost see the reflection of my face in there. Please allow me to add this to my personal theme.

Thanks to your sizable and comprehensive archive, we are leaving a lot of dull days behind my friend. This tele-macro is phenomenal; a perfect POV and strong sunlight produced a razor-sharp image with great definition, but what I like most is the color of those huge eyes! Thank you indeed for sharing this beautiful product of nature with us!

Again we are back to the dragonflies...and in this image the yes stick out well in the overall sharp image. I am immersed in dragonflies and such from last year so I feel as though this will be a good year for a major study deeper into the beast. I think perhaps, since they are mystical in many cultures, I will try to learn more about their inner spirit...You keep on taking the wonderful pics..and I;'ll do the reading an learning...

The detail in the wings is amazing!
This is an especially pretty Hawker and one which I don't think we have in England :-(

Another good one from your archives. that is a really versitile lens you have, from dragons to birds they all come out sharp and great details.
This one is no exception, everything is sharp, even at f6.3, impossible with my lens.

I cannot imagine better picture of this amazing specimen. What a great first-class telelens and converter. You managed to reflect the tiniest details everywhere on the dragonfly. It is fantastic. Colours, their richness are superb as well as the lighting and 3D-effect. Bravo. Great job.
