What a LOVELY pattern to it's wings...almost as a purposeful cutout from Martha Stewart, who loves to mimic natural things in simple art forms which others might try. Very nice surprise for you Ulla....Nice orange colour...my favourite Popsicle too!:-)

This picture really does set a benchmark for Butterfly captures...The wings are fully open showing the glorious markings and the body is sharp to the tips of the antenna..Outstanding capture...(note to self..Must try harder!!)

I think that favourite animals for nowadays are Lepidopteran species. At least, for you, Ivan and me:)
The genus Polygonia members are very beautiful butterflies with their shape and colors. This is one of them and really elegance species. Your photo is very nice. I like very much the way you rendered the green leaves under the butterfly. Very nice lighting showing leaves texture and vivid colors. Buterfly is well kept in focus and the suitet DOF shows great details of theinsect.

The last two days were hectic for me, Ulla. School was getting closed for summer and many last minute hassles to attend to. Hope you don't mind my delayed reciprocation to your recent post.
You have captured this seasoned Comma very well from a short distance. Mercifully, there are no blemishes on it. It is a sharp and colourful image.

J'aime beaucoup le Polygonia, mais il est souvent rapide en vol, et n'arrive pas à le photographier comme je voudrais.. Bref , bravo pour cette très belle prise de vue, et pour les couleurs.
