European cave spider (Meta menardi).

I found this "little" fellow in my basement.

The body was approximately 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) long with a legspan of roughly 5 cm (2 inches).

Edit: Cropped and resized. Unsharp mask applied.

Hello Fredrik,
a clear picture showing the colours and characters of the spider very well. I do not know whether the species has ever been shown at TN. Therefore, thank you for posting this picture.
Best wishes, Peter

Hello Fredrik,
Very nice first upload you are showing us here.
Have never seen a spider like this one before.
You've done and excellent job on sharpness and exposure and therefore colors and details are wonderful.
Looking at the pose of the legs, the movement in the second leg from behind at the right side and the hind most raised leg at the left side, the spider was moving slowly from left to right.
Thanks for sharing and the good note.
Best wishes and have a nice weekend,
Harry
