| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This squirrel was sitting under our bird feeder and eating seeds from sunflower that the nuthatcher had thrown out. The birds didn't take notice of the squirrel, they flew to the feeder without fear. (The feeder is more than 1.5 meters over the ground).
I know that it's not as sharp as many of the photos shown here but I blaim it on my equipment ;-(
I have tried to make the picture as good as I can by:
Croping
Sharpen 1 step
Increase light (don't remember how much)
Saturation +7
Resized for post
Framed

Hi Per,
Great close up. With some good details. I noticed you did do some PP work on it, but i felt it could use more contrast and saturation. Please see my WS.

Niek
Hej Per,
it's a nice but not an easy shot.
Deep shadows to the left and bright snow to the right.
A fill in-flash would maybe helped to bright up the shadows.
I like the composition with the whole tail in the frame.
Nice pose and POV too.
Well done.

Hi Per, I do like to see the photos of squirrels as we don't have them in New Zealand. They always look so cute and petty. I like how you have captured him and show him to us.
When most of us started at TN we had lots to learn, and as time goes by we seem to slowly pick up things and begin to understand a little more about photographing and the PP work. So keep practicing, read others' critiques, and make critiques yourself. It does help, I know!!
Cheers
Janice :)
