Hej Ivan,
a very fine picture and it was worth posting, it's a really
summer reminder. Lovely colours and nice lighting.
Well composed with good DOF and fine details.
Beautiful work.

Har fortfarande en släng av influensan kvar, hostig och lite febrig så det blir till att hålla sig inne idag också ;-((

Hi Ivan

Sounds like your having a lousy winter, well we've a very wet and cool summer this year. I've only ybeen out a few times since I got back from overseas.
Anyway this is a great one from the archives. I really like blues and the northern hemisphere one seem to have a strong hue and better define veins than the ones we get here. I think the sharpness is good and its on a prety good background.

una splendida immagine di C. semiargus.
In effetti, l'identificazione è più facile osservando il lato inferiore.
Tuttavia il colore blu violaceo scuro con bordo nero più o meno ampio e le tracce di nero lungo le nervature è caratteristico di questa specie e permette di distinguerla, con un certo allenamento, anche osservandola da sopra.
Complimenti per la bella composizione.

You certainly know your butterflies Ivan. Add to that the sharp image and the very pleasant relaxing colour of this creature and you have a very pretty picture....I do believe I will add this to my blue theme. It gives a sense fo what I feel and how comfortable with this particular shade.

the focus on the body and the left wings and the achieved sharpness is pretty good (you have not to excuse for lower quality)!
The particular blue of the species is nicely reproduced.

Sorry to hear that weather up there is not on your side, my friend :(
Here it is still mostly sunny but from what i've heard, it will change to worse in the upcoming days...

Anyway, this is a very beautiful shot from you archives! You really do have an impressive collection of these :)
I love the details that you manage to capture on this little fellow and the very nicely visible hairs. The DOF is almost perfect here - it creates an amazing bokeh in the BG and it keeps the butterfly in very good focus...all but one wing tip :)
But even with that, i can appreciate this beautiful shot because of its charming colors, great composition and - as usual - very good note.
