Hi Ivan,
Hahaha... What a great shot!
Love the pose and the title : )
Great timing to catch those wings held out like a conductor's arms.
Very sharp and clear despite the poor light conditions.
I can see the beads of water on his chest.
TFS. : )

Hello Ivan,
What a fantastic capture of this Great Cested Grebe with its wings outstretched.
Your timing is exemplary. So rarely are birds captured with wings looking as straight as this.
I like your title too.
Very nice work.
Cheers & TFS,
Steve

Hi Ivan,
I love the frozen action you've captured here, that 1/2500 has really had the effect of freezing the subject perfectly. Really good detail and colours in the plumage, I'm itching to get back down to the hide at the Port of Brisbane but stuck in the middle of a ten day shift at the moment, excellent work.
Cheers Rick :)

Hi Argus!
Now, my smilies are back again!
:-)
I'm impressed by the quality of this picture although you have taken it at a distance of about 20m. Your 400mm makes a good job! I like the dynamics in the picture very much and appreciate the interesting and instructive notes.
Kind regards
Markus

Being a musician I wander around for a bit...looking for the correct ASCII for the title...I know it is out there somewhere...but I would not be able to give you kind words on your image if I looked all day...
It was a nice time to click Ivan...My wife asks me if I remember each shot I took which I post...the answer is no...but that may just be me...your mind is like a steel trap..and you remain the man to come to for advice, suggestions and answers!

merhaba Ivan,
Crested Grebe's great shot with wonderful timing. It looks like to say "maestro":) Focus, POV, composition and colors also great. Recently, I saw them in many times, but they prefer sea for winter period. I think, they will come to inland waters for breeding season with colorful plumage. Normally spring coming nowadays, but now it is snowing:)
Thanks a lot for sharing, best regards my friend

Hi Ivan,
This little Grebe certainly looks like a Maestro! I love the pose - good timing to capture this. The position of the wings and the droplets on his body are marvelous. I have only seen one once - in the Netherlands - and think they are the cutest things. I have a picture I took with a terrible tiny no-zoom camera and cherish it since it's my one and only.

Wow, what a graceful pose, Ivan! You caught the bird in this pose in the nick of time.
The out-stretched wings and the tilt of the head suggest a dancing posture of extreme ecstasy -- somewhat reminicent of the dervish dancers in their heightened state of hala.
Well done and thanks for sharing this wonderful capture.

Hello Ivan,
This is a fine capture! The bird is in a very interesting pose. You have taken the photo at the right moment. I like the water drops from bird's chest. Colors are well rendered and the water with small waves makes a good background.
Thank you for sharing,

Ivan,
Good work on getting this picture from such a distance. You converter did it's job.
I like the action of the Grebe using it's wings to rise out of the water. I am not familiar with this bird, but our geese do the same thing around here.
Nice action shot, TFS - Bob

Hi Ivan.
Yes. I love such subject as this one. The pose of the bird is very impressive as well as the extreme timing. However, I also estimate highly colours and sharpness (details) of the image considering the absence of sun light. Your lens set is great and works perfectly in such light conditions. Well done. TFS.

Hello Ivan,
Beautiful capture of this great bird in outstreched wings pose, though the crest is minimally visible. I was shocked to read in Wikipedia that this species was hunted almost to extinction in the United Kingdom in the 19th century for its head plumes, which were used to decorate hats and ladies undergarments.
Thanks to all those who were involved in bringing back their conservation status to IUCN 3.1 (Low Risk Category). TFS
Regards-Subhash
