Magnificent posting of this beautiful bird. There are quite a lot on the Ouse Washes but I have never managed to get this close - let alone achieve such a superb shot.

Godwits, pipers and such...all having this distinctive beak. It seem as though I am seeing more and more of the godwits lately. Your image is unobstructed by a clear backdrop, almost as if it was posed perfectly just for #400..Congratulations are in order then. Of course I want to congratulate my wife on her 400th posting. It was was Ulla that introduced me to this wonderful site and she ahs been with me on most of the photographic trips that we have made to contribute, including this fine capture she made of the Black-tailed Godwit.

400 posts is indeed a landmark occasion and what a capture to celebrate it.
The scene is fantastic with the Godwit standing proud on the post..I guess that he would normally be wading at a distance giving no chance of a clear shot..You seized the moment perfectly and have such super sharp details..(I used to have this camera and when you post pictures of this quality I should have kept it and not handed over my hard earned cash to canon and sigma!!)

You have managed to get close enough to Black-tailed Godwit. I think this is one of those that wore a pale plumage here during the winter and dressed up to return to Sweden. Very good shot with nice pose and composition, beautiful colours and sharp details.

Congratulations for your 400th post. this is a great number on TN. I wish many hundreds posts and for a long time.
Congratulations also for this perfect shot for Limosa limosa. I remember you wrote for my post of this species that it is one of your favourite birds. I took many photographes of this species, but none of them similar to yours, which I saw the godwit on pools in books and this is usual place for it. Focus, POV, colors, timing; shortly all feautes wonderful. I added it in my favourites. Thanks so much. have a nice week.

Congrats on 400, its a big effort I know. We get these guys in Oz during our summer, though our ones migrate from Siberia and we only see them in brackish estuaries, never in grasslands.
