This is such an unusual looking moth!! Lovely pastel colors and strange white legs. You captured it in a wonderful pose on the rock. I would love to see a head on shot of this one.

This is indeed a very beautiful moth and very well thought out capture...Your choice of f10 was perfect on what I guess was a tentative shot so as not to disturb him..The workshop you have posted compliments a fine recording of this wonderfully coloured Hawk Moth.

I love moths and this one is a beauty. I didn't know before this picture that I love moths, I think it is because of the nuanced colours and the soft hair. This one is also camouflaged on this rock as the pink of the rock is the same as in the wings. Skillfully shot, great pov and superb colours. Thank you Ivan,

the do seem to have a wide body so to speak...as well as the trunk in other form before morphing. Very nice image and together with the story makes a good lesson Ivan....

I never knew why they were called this... but now I do :-)
I've always loved these Moths and you show this fellow very well.
Nice colours and great light.
Excellent composition.
DOF is slightly too shallow but not a big problem by any means.
Superb sharpness.

Hi Ivan,
Colours that you have in this elephant moth are what is seen normally in flowers and i have not really seen this colourful a moth in my life.This is so beautiful and you were lucky to find it in your garden.
The details and sharpness are fantastic and superbly captured.The workshop posting gives another great view of the moth.And i guess the rock also provides it a great camouflage.

this is a very fine picture with great sharp details.
The DOF is very good too, the whole insect in focus and the FG and BG in nice OOF. Lovely colours and good POV.
