I took this yesterday, the Blue Tit is locking for seed in the snow.
I don’t know if he found any among the old straws. He had a new ball of tallow in the
tree above but he was chased away of a nuthatch.
The Blue tits and other small birds are depending of people to survive if the winter will be very cold. I have always some food with me when I’m walking in the park.
I hope you like him.

Some info about the Blue Tit.

The striking Blue on the wings, tail and especially on the crown make the Blue Tit an easy bird to identify. It is also the only British tit, apart from Crested, to have a dark stripe through the eye, a feature by which the yellower juveniles can be identified.
Breeds and winters in woods, parks, orchards, hedgerows and gardens.
A very abundant and widespread bird, present everywhere except Orkney and Shetland. In winter, varying numbers of continental birds increase the local population in southern and eastern England.
Widespread and numerous in most of Europe.
3 300 000 territories across much of Britain with over a million in Ireland.
16-21 million breeding pairs widespread across Europe (representing 75% of this species range). Absent only from northern Scandinavia.

I love this photo of this cute little bird. He is so colorful and you managed not to overexpose the photo which is always difficult with snow.

Hello Gert,

Just send them here, there's always room at the stump, for one more... :-))

Nicely captured, great composition, POV and pose.

Thank you for sharing him with us.

Sorry little bird, there's not so many food to see. Tell Gert he has to bring some seeds until you let him make another good shot of you!
Hi Gert, this blue tit is one of my darlings in the garden. But they are always so agile, it's difficult to see them sitting longer for a shot. Wonderful post, thanks

Snow, snow, snow and beautifull, little and colorfull bird ;-) One of our most cute winter birds. Great scene Gert, I like snow on Tit's beak. Snow in Poland, too.

I can't get enough of this cute & colorful bird Gert. Sure wish I had some here to shoot..Well composed with great color and detail. I always feel sympathy for the conditions these little ones face in the harsh winter conditions. Well done my friend & Merry Christmas!

He is cute and colorful Gert!
Nicely composed and captured!
Thanks,
Dave

its the least we can do for these lovely subjects and others. They are a good challenge to get on camera as they sometimes tend to be very wary of things around them.

Nice Shot of this one on the snow. The colours are nice.

Well done

Demetrio

Oh, that poor little bird in the snow! So they stay all winter Gert. Where do they live? I'm pleased you feed them, please take double the food from me next time.
Great shot on the snow Gert, you show us how hard it must be for these beauties all winter. TFS...

Bonjour Gert!

Bonne prise de ce petit oiseau, les couleurs sont juste et la netteté bonne. Est-ce que il supporte le grand froid ce Blue Tit?

Merci et bonne semaine.

Hello Gert!
Very nice capture.Details,POV,sharpness, framing and composition are wonderful.TFS...:-)

Hi Gert

I feel so sorry for the wildlife during winter. There must be many animals that don't survive. This is cute wee fella. I hope he makes it through the winter. Your shot is excellent. Perfect exposure on the white. Nicely composed. Thanks.

Good shot of a real cuty. Compo too central, though it emphasises the roundness and small size of this wee ball of feathers.
