[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today's post is a very small fly, it is sitting in a Daisy flower. I have no ID for it yet. I will update when I get some info.
This is not a tacksharp macro but I want to share it anyway. I prefer to shot with my 180 mm macro with a converter, but this I took with my 17-35 mm zoom and a 12 mm ext.tube. If you can find a co-operative model it will works, the distance from the front-lens is about 10-15 mm.

Technique:
Sigma 17-35 mm DG HSM, 12 mm ext.tube, handheld
ISO 200, Raw-format
Convert, Levels, Contrast, Crop, resized to 800 pixels , USM on the B/W channel in lab-colours. I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for PP

Very detailed and beautiful, great composition too. The white petals look like porcelain, I also like the dew or rain drops on the insect. Fantastic!

Hello Gert,
Its a good capture.
Its a species of Sawfly but which one I'm not certain.
It looks similar to Tenthredo mesomelas but they are more green in colour.
Excellent exposure and very nice detail,I like the water droplets.
A great shot,well done.

Hi Gert,

A great macro as always. Details are sharp and the exposure is good. I think the light was not really at your side on this one because the colors seem a little less saturated as they are in your normal posts. Composition and POV are great. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Hello Gert, Excellent shot of this very tiny fly! Fantastic details and sharpness..Great exposure, Very well done!

Hi Gert,
A humbling experience?
Excellent capture and you did well capturing this subject. You experienced what I did with the s5000, right in there!!!
Your whites are well controlled, however, there is noise in the green. The blur tool can rid of that.
Excellent work.

Mike
