I'm not sure, perhaps it could be a Dasypoda hirtipes, in German: Rauhfüßige Hosenbiene.
Could be translated in Trouser-Bee.
I like the perfect sharpness and the many hairs on the legs of this bee. Just wonderful, thanks and bye

I think Sabine's ID is very close - it's certainly a melittid bee - but I think it's probably Macropis europaea (a female). A perfect picture - well done.

Since joining TN, I have realized that we often times fear that which we do not understand, or are unfamiliar with...

This bee is an example, for I had never before seen such a detailed closeup of one, and only knew that they can often sting/bite and were to be avoided and feared.

Now, however, thanks to you, and some others who bring us these wonderful images to view and (usually ;-) such excellent notes as well, I have developed a new mind set regarding such creatures, no longer fearing them, as much as being amazed at the intricate aspects of their biology and physical makeup.

An amazing macro shot, thank you for sharing it Gert!
