I took this on the coast by the Baltic Sea. Most of the seabirds have arrived now,
Terns, Gulls, and all kind of ducks, it’s a great time.
My lady says this Gull looks like an angel. I like it.
I hope you like it too.
This is a very common bird in Sweden, 100 000-200 000 pairs.

From : www.birdguides.com
The Common Gull is most likely to be mistaken for a Herring Gull but notice that it is much smaller with altogether more delicate features, including the fine bill which lacks a red spot. It also has greenish legs and a darker grey back than most Herring Gulls. In flight the black in the primaries makes a more extensive wedge with bolder neater white blobs near the tips. Immature Common Gulls in flight have a conspicuous black wedge on the leading edge of the primaries.
Breeds on moor land and lochs. Winters on estuaries, lakes, reservoirs and coasts.
A common breeding bird in Scotland, but few found nesting in England and Wales. More widespread across England in winter, but not as numerous as its name suggests.
A common breeding bird, easily located in much of Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe. It is also abundant as a wintering bird in western Europe, especially in coastal areas.
68 000 breeding pairs found throughout Britain with 3 600 in Ireland. Over 900 000 birds winter in Britain with another 67 500 in Ireland.
420 000-560 000 breeding pairs with the majority found in northern and western Europe. The largest populations are found in Scandinavia and Great Britain.

Another excellent one Gert!
Excellent pos you caught!
The picture is very sharp and clear, a bit noise but I know that what happens when you use raw, have you tried to use NI to clean the noise?
The details are excellent, that is the advantage of using raw!

WellDone!

Great capture.Good dof end pov.TFS

Hi Gert!
This is amazing shot. I love this kind of photo showing freedom and happiness.
Great job!

Great capture Gert, details of wings, and dof
In a friendly way Christophe

Perfect, Gert! Couldn't be better technically as well as on an artistic point of view. These shots are not easy, because we shoot them more often when they fly away then when they fly in :-)). Do I read in his/her eyes that he/she hesitates on the landing spot? This is a winner, definitely.

Wonderful action shot Gert. The details are amazing here, great colours, excellent handling of the light - one of the best gull-shots on TN, well done my friend.

I too want to by a gull which I can hang from the ceiling against a pretty backdrop. Just kidding. It's magnificent and so well captured.
Regards Toni

Incredible capture, Gert!
In this photo the gull looks more like a dove, with its beautifully detailed plumage and pose. Congratulations on one of the finest postings to date. Thank you for sharing it with us!

A really great picture of a very commonly observed bird! It seems about to fall out of the sky onto the viewer, and has really great clarity. Like your lady, my first thought was it looks like a picture of an angel.

Image quality is superb, Gert. This goes into my favorites. Dramatic sky, compositon and perfectly exposed. TFS.

Superb action shot Gert!
Lighting,details,framing and composition are excellent.
TFS...

Your flying photo's never cease to amaze me!
Another brilliant capture! Perfect sharpness and exposure, and you've froze the action nicely.
You've obviously got a lot of skill with the camera just to catch the bird, and probably a lot with photoshop, but then we'd have to see the original image!! :)
