[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I dedicate this big scary spider to my friend Callie, who "loves" spiders. I played with AFS and made a B/W copy to remember the old days in the darkroom.
I don't know what species, I don't know anyhing about spider. I post the original as WS, and maybe Gerhard or someone else can help me with the ID.
This spider is very small. it's a housefly he have catch

I hope you like it.

I use my old Sigma 105 macro.

YuK, and a hard swallow. This is awfully good, Gert. Splendid B&W and fly in dire plight. Spider ready to bite. Sorry, I get carried away, but it is SO good! TFS, and remebering me. I would rather face the kitty kats than this one this size!

Nice work Gert, very different to have a b&w shot from you. I think it works quite nicely. Good job.

I am sure that Callie will have some serious bad dreams afte this one Gert. - Me, I am fascinated. It is a very good capture - plenty of details and the b/w works good here. Looking at the original where the colours are very clear you can see a red where the web is released which could indicate that it is a Araniella cucurbitina - I do not have a English name for it, could be Orb-weawer Spider - but in Danish it is called Grćskarspinner or Agurkespinner.

Anyway it is a great shot and I really love it. TFS.

Gert, Really like what you've done with this. It's like a late night horror show from the days of B&W films.. Great POV, great details..scary shadow. Frighteningly Good Man!

Wow !!! this is such a beautiful shot.. Looks very dramatic in b/w.. great details, very sharp. Very very good !!

And I know how this story ends - spider sucked fly and after that duck came and eat spider :-) Sorry Gert, but I couldn't resist :-) I like x-rays like mood of the picture. Quality superb. TFS!

What a pretty, icy composition! He looks like made of glass. Great done with a shadow. Congratulations!

Great composition and PP.
Very well done.
TFS.

YES! YES! YES!

These are the shots I like the most. Nice B&W and from the original the B&W has more impact. Excellent choice. I like the DOF "stripe" on the surface to. Great shot.

Gert, that's the way life is. Maybe, a little scary. Despite that, I like this photo. Great job. As for black-and-white, a rare choice here on TN that worked well.

Congratulations.

Gert, I like B&W shots, but I must admit in this one the colour copy has a lot more impact. It is a nice image and composition. I am afraid I can help you with id. I like very much the shadow on the leafe. Thanks!
