[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today’s picture is a very small hoverfly. As usual I have big problems to get the right ID.
But I think it’s a Melanostoma mellinum. I think it’s cute when it licking pollen from the “fingers”. Why can’t hoverflies have any English name.
My countryman Carl Von Linné (Linnaeus) should at least give them a Swedish name. ;-)
I have no note for it, because I haven’t found any yet, I will update if I find any.
I have post a WS to show the whole size of it sitting in a dandelion.

Technique:
Sigma 180 Macro EX HSM, Kenko 1,4X conveter, Sigma EF 500 DG Super Flash,
Manfrotto/Bogen 055 tripod + monoball 168.
I post a WS of the equipment , people very often ask want I used.
ISO 200, Raw-format , manual focus.
Convert, Levels, Contrast, Crop, resized to 800 pixels , USM on the B/W channel in lab-colours.
I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for PP
