Hi Gert,
that squirrel is extraordinarily well taken, looking very cute and alert. Razor sharp details, beautiful colours in the perfect light of a clear day. Your point of view creates a very dynamic result - the reddish body with its aura of black fur against the bright blue sky looks very exciting and refreshing. For me it does not happen every day to see a squirrel from below at such a close distance. In the parks the half tamed ones either approach you on the ground to get some nuts from you, or they behave like every shy animal and stay in a large distance somewhere high up, always disappearing to the other side of a tree.
Telling from the pink spots on the belly I guess the squirrel could be a female that has to feed youngsters.
Very pretty and refreshing contribution.

I don't know how you do it that you do.
This is and superb shot not only for the way the subject looks but most at all because the angle that it was taken.
You good the right perspective and the right amount of light against the sky to make this shot one of the kind.
Great colors and details. Also excellent composition POV and framing.

This is a perfect a perfect shot ! I love the sharpness and composition and above all the contrast, this brown/orange against the blue sky. It is really funny, we can see every single detail on that squirrel, the hair on the tail and ears, the small hands.

The others all gave all the compliments this deserves. I love it. It is a sunny capture. I see you use the 70-300mm. Is it the MKII?? If so are you happy with it?

Ps. Still a winter with no snow... 40 years now :(

I did ask some friends to phone when it snows in their area so that I can rush over. The snow does not last for more than a day at the most. I trust you are well friend??? I went shooting with Callie on the weekend. He has the new D200 and sold all the old lenses. Uses just the two VR lenses and had to morgage the house. :) lol!

Hi Gert!

Impressive shot of a common subject! Exposure and focus cannot be better. Low POV gives your subject a lot of importance and made the blue sky and impressive BG. Light direction rendered excellent detail all over the animal. And of course PP have been well mastered.

Hi Gert,

What a superb shot, the composition is lovely and I just love the POV with the superb cloudy blue sky BG behind the Squirrel, the detail is so sharp and clean and the colours are wonderful.
