This is one of my fav’s, Emerald Damselfly female.
They almost always sitting down deep in the grass and it is hard to get a clean shot, but this one was sitting well and was not shy. It’s a very common here.
The butterflies are still rare but I have seen a few more, so I hope they will come later.
I hope you like this Emarald samselfly.

The Emerald damselfly Lestes sponsa is a damselfly, 3.5 centimeters long, found in Europe, Asia and North Africa. In peace, its wings are usually half opened. Males have a dark metallic green tone, while females appear rather copper. The Emerald damselfly can survive up to a half hour under water.
Preferential habitats of this species are pools, ponds and moorlands, from central and Northern Europe until north Asia at a value of 1,200 meters. The animals are very widespread. A population can consist of several hundred animals. The Emerald dragonfly is one of the most frequent kinds of dragonflies in Europe, since it can adapt very well to many environmental changes

Hi Gert, very nice and clear shot of this delicate damselfly. DOF is just a bit short, although it is really sharp where it matters. Very nice use of flash, contrast, colours and composition. TFS.

Beautiful capture and very good picture, the colours and quality are excellent.

Hi Gert,
wonderful, I love your glittering damselflies so much, this one seem to be totaly metallic on the backside, I never found such a one here in Germany. Wonderful POV from the side - and she's looking so friendly ;-) Thanks and bye

Lovely shot for this superb "Libellule" ! Composition, colors, exposure, DOF, BG, details and sharpness are very good ! How are you doing with a tripod, with me they immediatly escape, perhaps damselflies of Savoy don't the 350D ;-)
Congratulations Gert and thank you for sharing.
