I took this in the early morning today. This is a male and he was looking for a present for his female and he found this fine larva, I think the female will be pleased with this offer.;-)
The Common Treecreeper is a common bird in Sweden and stays the winter.
It’s a very acrobatic little bird but it can not climb down in the tree as the nuthatch.

From www.birdguides.com

/
The Common Treecreeper is like a feathered mouse which discretely climbs in spirals up the trunk of one tree before flying down to start on the next one. Its speckled brown plumage provides excellent camouflage but the silvery-white underparts may give it away. Other features to look for are its long pale eyestripes, slender down-curved bill and black-edged golden wing-bar sometimes glimpsed as it flies.
Breeds and winters in both coniferous and broad-leaved woodlands and parkland.
A common woodland resident across Britain, except in the Northern Isles. A secretive and often overlooked species that is most easily located by its high-pitched call.
Effectively this is the only species of treecreeper in Britain and Scandinavia but it is also widespread throughout much of Europe except most of France, Holland and Iberia. In France it definitely occurs alongside the Short-toed Treecreeper around Fontainebleu and in Holland it breeds regularly in only one area, near Epen.
An estimated 200 000 territories in Britain, widespread througout the country with a further 45 000 in Ireland.
2.7-3.6 million breeding pairs throughout central, northern and eastern Europe and the British Isles.

Hi Gert, a lovely capture of this little bird doing what it does best.
Good detail and colour, the flash has worked well on this, it sometimes makes the bark of the tree look un-natural. Thanks for sharing.

Great POV Gert. Nice image. Full of lots of things to look at. The cute wee bird, the worm it has caught and the texture of the tree trunk. Nice capture. TFS.

Wow, Gert! This is perfect. Great composition, POV and pose. Details are very sharp and colors are superb. We call this a "boomklever". The insect in the beak of the bird is a great bonus. Well done!!!

I had to twist my head to look at it horizontally as the bird is leaning back so much. Great capture and details.
Toni

Hey, Gert, we have here another very nice shot by you.

That's how life goes on.

Nice pov, composition and sharpness to show us this great moment.

Hello Gert! What a great capture of this sweet little bird. I'd never seen one before. It seems to stay close against the tree like our nuthatches, but they are usually heading down the tree. Lucky to catch him with his grub, and marvellous shot of those feet! Marvellous photo!

Just spectacular.
You are the master of birds, you really get them in perfect atitudes. Thanks for sharing and for the general quality.
