I took this in the morning. It is a snapshot; I was out for some flight-in shots of Goosanders.
When I passed a small tree I heard some strange sounds I never heard before, I know how a Blue Tit sounds, and it was these two who were mating. I just lift the camera and shot, the camera was set for manual exposure but I was lucky. It is not the best technical quality but it not so often you see them mating or get a picture, so I’m happy for what I got.
I hope you like it too.
The Blue tit is a very common bird in Sweden and stay the whole year.

Earlier post of Blue Tit.

The striking Blue on the wings, tail and especially on the crown make the Blue Tit an easy bird to identify. It is also the only British tit, apart from Crested, to have a dark stripe through the eye, a feature by which the yellower juveniles can be identified.
Breeds and winters in woods, parks, orchards, hedgerows and gardens.
A very abundant and widespread bird, present everywhere except Orkney and Shetland. In winter, varying numbers of continental birds increase the local population in southern and eastern England.
Widespread and numerous in most of Europe.
3 300 000 territories across much of Britain with over a million in Ireland.
16-21 million breeding pairs widespread across Europe (representing 75% of this species range). Absent only from northern Scandinavia.

What a majestic shot this is Gert! Unbelievable shot. I am still trying to make a decent shot of a single tit (I find the exposure hard to handle on these birds) and you've managed to capture this x-rated scene. Well done. Good details, well frozen action. Great colors and exposure. TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Une superbe prise, la pose des oiseaux est excellente et originale.

Félicitations pour la netteté et les couleurs.

*grin* X-rated it may be but it is totally gorgeous! What timing! For a 'snapshot' it has an awfully good look to it...nice DOF, sharpness and composition. I think I'll go out and try and get a similar shot, you might have to wait a while though! :)

For not being prepared this is a perfect shot!

Nice shoot at the perfect moment.

wow! i take off my hat!
thanks to your kind attn. to my photos.

this pair is not so high on the tree!

This is the very first bird mating photo I have seen. You are very lucky! TFS!

How could I have missed that one, Gert! We have nesting ones here, but I've never seen how they make it, even if I have a rough idea! :-)). Very good action (if I may say so) shot, focus spot on, adequate speed to get blurry wings enhancing the action (again!). Amazing and very well catched. Hope they had lots of birdies after that.

Great shot ! the DOF is perfect and you had a very nice natural light to shot !
