[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first Damselfly for 2005 and I can’t get an ID for it. I can’t find it my new big book about dragon/damselflies. Maybe I need a new pair of glasses. ;-)
It’s a little shallow DOF. It’s was windy today so I couldn’t use a long Shutter Speed.
This is a LP version. Click here for the big version.
I hope you like it.

Technique:
Sigma 180 macro EX HSM, Kenko 1.4X converter.
ISO 200, Raw-format, One shot Autofocus
Converted, Levels/Curves, Contrast, Crop, resized to 800 pixels, converted to sRGB save as JPG for the WEB. I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for PP.

Nice picture, very good crop that using the length body to wide composition, good quality.

Hopefully the first of many Gert. Impressive image.

wickedly sharp end to end! :)
Excellent detail and presentable crop. Well done.

Hi Gert, it may possibly be one of the colour variant females of the Ischnura elegans - Blue-tailed Damselfly, (infuscans-obsoleta) not 100% sure.
A lovely capture and good use of the panoramic format to show even more detail.

Hello Gert, This looks just fantastic in blow-up, exceptional details..It really is the best way to show-off the dragon because of its long profile..Very well done my friend!

This is very good Gert. I looked at the big version and it's really BIG. Very good details. I loved the diagonals and pastel tones at the BG.
Very well done.

Always a pleasure to look at your LP, you should post them more often. Thanks very much for sharing, I love the textures detail in this one. Regards.

Now this is an impressive LP, Gert. Very nice light and metallic reflections. Very sharp details. Great shot!

Hi Gert, very nice shot. Lovley focus here and the DOF is not so shallow, everything that should be in focus is. As for the ID my best guess is that this is an immature Common Blue male. Very nice work.

Belle libellule bien mise en valeur dans cette composition photographique horizontale. Jolies couleurs, bon point de vue et bonne netteté.
Beautiful, interesting & well done !

Yep Gert I would agree with Paul this beautifully seen Damsel is a Teneral (Immature Male Common Blue. TFS

Amazing LP version Gert, Its near time I got myself a dedicated macro lens because I would love to try stuff like this. The quailty and detail is fantastic.

Great panorama macro of this dragonfly. Very sharp and good DOF.

Hi Gert,
This is an immature male of Enallagma cyathigerum or common blue damselfly!
