Hello Gert,
Brilliant capture of this Redpoll. I think this is how one likes to see them - all fluffed up! Poor thing, he looks cold! Great sharpness and colours are lovely. The snow in the background makes him stand out so beautifully and I also like his pose on the branch too. Great work!

This is a common bird for you but not from me :))) This is a beautiful specie. I know that we also have them in our country but I have never seen one so far. I live in a big country, lol! Hej Gert,
Another fine capture of the Common Redpoll. This has all the qualities of a first-class shot. The light, sharpness, composition and the snowy BG are the best aspects of this shot.

This is a good photo of the Redpoll. I have been trying all winter to get a decent shot of them as we have them in our garden most of the time, but without no success. There is somthing with their bills that makes them look unsharp on most photos.

I like the lighting in this photo but think it would have been even more interesting with a lower angle.

We have Redpoll in certain parts of New Zealand, but I am yet to see one. Hopefully this year when we have our annual trip to the South Island of NZ. This is a perfect shot MF.. thank you! :-)

Hi Gert,
I can do with pictures like this until you've captured the bearded tit's. Man, well exposed, sharp and all details well shown against the snow. Some nice picture.
I wondered what would be the advantage of sharpening the b/w channel in stead of overall smart sharpening.

This little buddie seems to be really cold!
Very good the POV used to show us this pose and all the good details.
The colours of the feathers are so beautiful, specially that subtle red gradation.
Even the brach textures are so clear and sharp.
I like a lot the compsotition made.

Gert, it may be common to you, but it is not over here... (In other words I am very envious/jealous...)

All I can say is (almost) everything is perfect (as always!) and I wish I could take pictures of my feathered friends even half as well as you do...

The only thing that grabs my attention other than the beauty of the picture are the 2 highlights in the snow that detract from the rest of the virtually perfect picture. Otherwise everythign is there, DOF, POV, composition, exposure, sharpness, the lot!

Hi Gert

This little fluff ball scores 10 out of 10 on the cuteness factor according to my scale of reference. Although it must have been rather cold outside it seems like the insulation qualities of the bird’s feathers are doing such a great job that this little guy is all comfy, cozy and sleepy even though you could not have been too far away from it.

A great composition with excellent sense of structure and scale, the colours are pleasing, the details are remarkably sharp (as always with most every one of your masterpieces), the OOF snow in the BG enhanced the darker bird very well, and the exposure is spot-on and could not be improved upon.

Very well done and TFS.
