Today’s post is celebration for my 3 years on TN.
I become a member of this emanate site a couple of days when it starts.
I have got a lot of friends here during the year, unfortunately a lot of them have disappear but I can see some them here now and then.
I have had a great time here but after my 500th post I have been less and less active.
Since my problems with my wrists and fingers not will be any better I have wrote less comments and the one’s I write are short, I hope you understand.
And I almost do not take any parts in the forums of the same reason.
Typing is a big problems but I’m happy that I still can use my camera but I use a tripod more and more often.
I hope you like my Scarce Copper.

Minolta 70-210/4.0 called”Beer can”
ISO 200, RAW-format, AV-mode. Tripod , Fill-in flash
Levels, Contrast, Crop, resized to 800 pixels, Smart Sharpen PP in PS CS3

Info from the last post.

The lower surfaces of the back wings are yellowish and have only a few black dots; there are characteristic white marks the immediate vicinity of these. The species exhibits one kind of sexual dimorphism: male butterflies are colored bright gold-red on the upper side of wing, while the females have broader orange wings with a dark design
A generation appears from mid-July to mid-September.
Eggs are laid on dried-out plant parts, for example on dry sorrel stems. The eggs are white in color and somewhat larger than those of other Lycaena species. The caterpillars are green and nocturnal and eat sorrel. Lycaena virgaureae is the only species of this genus whose eggs last over the winter. The butterflies feed on blossoms of such plants as the ground-elder, eupatorium, valeriana, and burnet saxifrage.

Congratulations on your third anniversary on TN, Gert!
Though I have been a member for only nearly a year it has been great to see your photos and have your critiques. Despite the problems with using your hands there are many of us that hope that you are able to continue to be active on TN.
This is a very fine capture of the male Scarce Copper of high technical and artistic merit and serves well to celebrate your 3 years with us.
Grattis och bästa hälsningar!
Ivan

Om en vecka kommer jag att vara med Sveriges Entomolgiska Föreningens Årsmöte i Uppsala och på torsdagen har vi fältexkursionen på Marmaskjutfält, ganska nära Gävle. Vi får hoppas på uppehåll!

Gert,
a huge congratulations on you third anniversary!
You are an exceptional photographer as shown through the many superb shots you've posted over the 3 years you've been a member.
It's great you can still use your camera and you shouldn't feel pressured to write hundreds of critiques or even join in all the forums as you've already contributed 3 years of plain awesome work and advice.
I hope you can continue on TN for many more years to come :)
This Scare Copper shot is an excellent capture to mark this special occasion for you.
Super sharp and detailed.
Technically perfect: Perfect composition, perfect POV to show of its beautiful colour, excellent DOF to isolate it from its BG, perfectly contrasting BG.
Very well done,
Joe :)

happy birthday,Luciano

Hi Gert,
Congratulations with your third anniversary. You must be one of the long lasted members of this site. Your contribution and your knowledge had made this site what it is now.

You celebrated your anniversary with a wonderful photo with great details and exposure. The simplicity of the composition is wonderful. I do however feel that the subject is a bit too centered.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Gert

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S – L Y C K Ö N S K N I N G
A wonderful mile stone for you to have reached my friend. The truth is that you are one of only a handful of people left from those early days and there are only 3 other members who joined before you who are still active on the site.

You joined TREKNature only 3 days after it started and although your wrists and fingers are tormenting you, you still contribute magnificent material to this site. A true mark of commitment and dedication. You have meant a lot to me and many other members with all the advice and encouragement you gave us through the years. May you still sneak around these Cyber corridors for many years to come?

This posting of the little Scarce Copper butterfly is an excellent example of your handy work and a fitting way to celebrate your TN birthday. It is an exquisite shot of the insect and just speaks volumes of your technical, artistic, and creative abilities. Great colours, amazing details, perfect exposure, etc. and so the accolades can go on and on and on. Posting after posting. And if anyone may ask, WHY? The answer is very simple, "Because you deserve it", period.

Great work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Congratulations to you for your three years on this site, Gert. I have seen so many amazing photos from you and read so many kind and helpful comments that I know that we all hope that your health will improve so that you can stay here for much longer.

As you know I have a bit of the same problems so I think I know somewhat what you are going through! For me help suddenly appeared and I surely hope it will do so for you too.

Best regards /Bengt Falke

Hello my old TN friend,
I would take this opportunity to thank you for all the encouragement you gave, when I was just starting out. From an OE Fuji S5000 first post, to the "cameraless man" is quite a jump wouldn't you say? ;}
Your suggestions and support have helped me more than you know.
Very well done Gert,
Howard

I wish you many more years in TN and hope to see many wonderful images form you. This butterfly picture is like annivearsary card. TFS and congrats again.

Congrats with your third full year on TN Gert.
Hope to stay such long time myself on this wonderful site.
Very sorry to read that you've got so much problems with your joint in wrist and fingers, but I'm very glad you still are able to shoot wonderful images and show them to us on TN.
Don't know if and how often you have been to a doctor ore hospital with those joint problems and if they did describe any medicine for this problem, but I know that a medicine called Glucosamine does help very well for making new gristle to the joints and support them better that way.
Lots of people including myself do have great benifit by using Glucosamine and pain, atleast partly does disappier within a few days.
By the way, this is a beautiful image :):):)
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Harry

Hello my friend, I congratulate you on your 3 years anniversary at TN. And you show a pretty bright butterfly to celebrate. BRAVO!!
I had hoped that you might have had your operation by now - is it likely to be soon? It's good that you can still use your camera - and you get excellent results from it too.
