This is really how you often see them in the early morning. I like the soft focus on the one beyond, almost like a mirror image of the Roebuck in front. Beautiful composition!

Hello Mikael,

Although the poor pre-sunrise light prevented you to get the best technical quality from your shot and the fog just added to this inconvenient, this picture certainly has some strengths which can't go by unobserved! The photo definitely stands out due to the impeccable composition and diagonal symmetry. Add the very good positioning of the two subjects into the most powerful points of the composition, the great perspective you created by overlapping objects and the use of fore-, middle- and background and you can have a glimpse on just a few of the great qualities of your shot. Have you thought about cropping off the upper part of the picture, just below the upper row of bushes? You will discover that there is another great composition inside your great composition. I'm sure you will be able to find even more pictures inside your picture.
The diagonal symmetry and the resemblance in pose and attitude is another great asset of your picture! One can definitely tell that the two fellows spotted you while shooting.
The exposure rendered everything as good as it could get given the shooting conditions. It isn't even that bad, I would have expected a higher noise level for an ISO 400 setting. So don't worry about the picture not being technically perfect. There are other things that please the eye of a viewer. In conclusion, I find this picture to be a work of art of high value and a demonstration that art can exist even in less ideal conditions. A brief and comprehensive note completes your post. Fantastic composition with two deers nicely placed on the diagonal. The low light level gives an interesting, almost moody feeling. Love the way they are both looking up. Very well done.
