This is truly stunning!
I'm amazed at how close you got!
I spotted one of these in a tall tree once but it flew off almost immediately.
Goldcrests are the smallest bird in Britain as well.
You've captured the gold crest really well and with vibrent colour.
Excellent composition and POV.
Superb sharpness and detail.
I'd love to be able to build a hide in a forest but everywhere in Britain is private and there are very little areas where you can be properly isolated from everyone else, so other people are likely to scare birds away or vandalise the hide :(
I must come over to Swedan sometime and build one there :)

Another lovely close view of a little Goldcrest watching you with its big round eye and showing off its golden crest! This is a very fine POV and details and colours are excellent as usual. Nice background too. How is life up north? Have you got snow at the moment?

A stunner as usual and I can understand why this Goldcrest was on your wishing list. A spectacular and dainty little bird. A cute fluff ball. This is an excellent close up filled with a variety of features and details. I am sure the big black eye is bigger than that pouted beak. A special and colourful photo, and as usual it was lovely to look at. Thanks for sharing.

Its a very cute little kungsfåglen, just a tiny ball of feathers with a splash of yellow paint on his crown. Exellent sharpness and POV.

This is an excellent portrait Gert, I like the "cheeky" pose :)
I can't comment on the color yet, you know why..
Excellent closeup composition, sharpness, detail, DOF, and POV.
I think the evergreen top left, and the overall framing of the bird with it, works very nicely.

Hi Gert,
I it amazing that you can get so close to those birds. We have the same or similar specie here and they are so shy and fast moving and I don't see them often. We don't have them in winter as I think they migrate south. I guess that I'll have to build a hide too. This is an outstanding capture with superb details, excellent composition and POV! I'm very impressed by this picture. Congratulations!

I see your hide is great idea and brings you a lot of pleasure and great photos. So impressive close-up. It is really superb. Composition and cropping are spot on. Details are extreme, DOF is fine (all image of the bird is sharp and all BG is blurred nicely), lights and colours are wonderful. Perfect job and many thanks.
